At Pompano Veterinary Oncology, we perform early-detection cancer tests with a simple blood draw. We can provide more precise and effective treatments by using genetic testing to diagnose and stage cancer in pets.

For example, suppose a pet is found to have a genetic mutation associated with a poor response to a particular chemotherapy drug. In that case, the veterinarian can avoid using that drug and choose a more effective treatment option. Additionally, by identifying genetic mutations associated with an increased risk of cancer, we can implement early screening and surveillance programs to detect cancer at its earliest stages.
